To return to the question of whether the passage leaves us with any means of determining who is right about whether selves are eternally separate mon­ ads or temporary transformations of a greater material cause: the question is now whether on this narrowed down conception of anvaya selves have anvaya. If they do, the Pancaratrika wins; if they do not, Ramakantha wins.
